Graeme Fitchett

When I joined Centrepoint in 2002, I never imagined it would become such a huge part of my life. What began as an opportunity to work with children grew into a lifelong passion and a career dedicated to helping young people feel valued, discover what they are capable of and thrive through play, creativity and care.

I have been fortunate to grow alongside Centrepoint. I began working directly with children in Playcare, where I learned that some of the most meaningful moments happen when children are simply given the time, space and encouragement to be themselves. Today, as Head of Children’s Services and Professional Development, I have the privilege of helping shape the opportunities, services and standards we provide across the charity.

With Centrepoint's support, I have achieved a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership, qualified as a Dance Teacher, Skateboard Coach and Bushcraft Practitioner, and completed a wide range of specialist training. Each opportunity has helped shape me as a leader, mentor, coach and advocate for children and young people.

I am incredibly proud of how Centrepoint continues to grow. From our Nurseries and Playcare services to our CP SPARK Project, outreach, our CP Skates and Forest School projects, everything we do is driven by the belief that play changes everything. We create places where children are seen and heard and where they are encouraged to try new things, build confidence and realise their potential.

What makes Centrepoint truly special is its people. I am inspired every day by the passion of our staff, the courage and creativity of our children, and the trust placed in us by families across the Island.

Centrepoint is far more than the place where I work. It is a community that has helped shape who I am, and one that I care about deeply. After all these years, I am just as passionate about its purpose and even more excited about the future we are creating together.
