Centrepoint ESML Scheme
Because every family needs support sometimes 💛
At Centrepoint, our purpose is simple — to make childcare possible for every family.
We understand that life doesn’t always go to plan, and sometimes unexpected challenges or setbacks can make it difficult to manage day-to-day.
That’s why we created the ESML Scheme — to ensure that when families need help most, support is already here.
What is the ESML Scheme?
The Emergency, Short-, Medium- and Long-Term (ESML) Childcare Scheme provides flexible care for children aged 0 to 14 years when families face difficult or changing circumstances.
This might include times when:
A parent or carer becomes unwell or needs medical treatment
A family experiences loss, crisis or unexpected change
A parent needs temporary respite or extra support
The welfare or emotional wellbeing of a child is at risk
Centrepoint can offer emergency or short-term childcare for immediate situations, as well as medium- or long-term placements where additional ongoing support is needed.
Our caring, highly qualified teams will work closely with you to understand your situation and find the best way to help.
How it Works
After contacting us, we’ll take time to talk through your needs and explore what kind of childcare support will help most.
Once we’ve agreed on the next steps, you’ll need to complete an ESML Application Form, which you can download here.
Centrepoint will always do everything possible to accommodate your request, though places depend on current availability and funding.
