Financial Assistance Scheme
Making childcare possible for every family 💛
At Centrepoint, we understand that family life can be unpredictable — and that financial challenges can sometimes make childcare feel out of reach.
Our purpose has always been simple: to make childcare possible for every family, no matter their circumstances.
The Financial Assistance Scheme provides help for families who are experiencing financial hardship and are struggling to cover the cost of childcare.
We believe that no child should miss out on learning, play, or friendships because of financial barriers — and this scheme helps make sure that doesn’t happen.
How We Help
Each family’s situation is unique, so support is offered on a case-by-case basis.
Our aim is to ease the pressure, protect stability for children, and give families space to recover or rebuild.
The scheme can provide:
Part-funded or fully subsidised childcare places during times of financial hardship
Short-term support during periods of transition or crisis
Medium- to long-term support where families face ongoing financial difficulty
Centrepoint reviews each request confidentially and sensitively, taking into account your circumstances, income, and the needs of your child.
Who Can Apply
You may be eligible for financial assistance if your family is:
Experiencing sudden loss of income (e.g. redundancy or reduced working hours)
Facing unexpected expenses or changes in household circumstances
Struggling to maintain consistent childcare due to ongoing financial pressures
Applications can be made through your Centrepoint Manager or through a professional referral (such as a social worker, health visitor or family support worker).

Our Commitment
As a charity, we reinvest directly into the community — apportioning a percentage of our revenue and fundraising income to make sure that children and families who need help the most can access high-quality childcare.
Because every child deserves to play, learn, and grow — and every parent deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing their child is cared for.
