If you run a local group, plan to host a workshop, or want somewhere friendly for a gathering, finding the right space can be a job in itself. You want a room that feels welcoming, somewhere easy to get to, and a booking that does not eat up the whole budget. There is something else worth thinking about too. Where you choose to meet can do a little good.
Centrepoint is Jersey's childcare charity. We have been at the heart of the island's childcare for more than 30 years. When our spaces are not in use by the children, we are happy to share them, and every booking helps us keep caring for local families.
A space that already feels like home
Our settings are built around children, so they are warm, bright and looked after. They are the sort of places where people relax and feel at ease. That makes them lovely for all kinds of get-togethers, from a parent and toddler group to a small community meeting or a one-off workshop.
When you walk in, you will find a setting that has been cared for, not a cold hall that has been hired out a hundred times. It is a small thing, but it changes how a gathering feels.
Good for groups, good for the island
Lots of local groups are looking for the same things, and we try to make them easy to find with us:
A friendly, comfortable room rather than a bare function space
A spot that is simple to reach and welcoming for families
A team who understand that not every group has a big budget
A booking that puts something back into the community
We know that many community groups, clubs and charities run on very little. As a charity ourselves, we understand that completely. We would always rather a space was used and enjoyed than sat empty.
Where your booking goes
This is the part that makes hiring with us a little different. We are not a business chasing profit. Every penny we raise goes back into our work with children and families across Jersey.
So when you book a room with us, you are not just paying for four walls and a kettle. You are helping us care for the hundreds of local children we see each year. Your meeting, class or celebration quietly supports a child settling into nursery, a family going through a hard patch, or a child with additional needs finding a place to play. That is a nice thing to be part of.
How to find out more
Every group is different, so the best first step is simply to ask. Tell us roughly what you have in mind, how many people you are expecting, and when you would like to come along. We can then talk you through what might work.
A few things are worth checking with us directly, as they can vary:
Which spaces are available and how many people they suit
The days and times that work around the children's care
The cost, and any kindness we can offer community groups and charities
We will always be honest about what we can and cannot offer, so you can plan with confidence.
Whatever you are hoping to host, we would love to hear about it. To start the conversation, take a look at hiring space at Centrepoint and get in touch. A warm room, a friendly welcome, and a booking that helps local children. That feels like a good place to meet.
What it means to be a charity, not a business
